Julie Emerson is a Republican member of the Louisiana House of Representatives representing a district in south Louisiana. She serves on the Agriculture, Civil Law and Procedure, Education, and Homeland Security Committees. She was recently Chairman of the Transition team for newly elected Republican Congressman Clay Higgins (LA-03). She has been a member of the Louisiana delegation at the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Republican National Conventions and currently serves as an elected member of the Republican State Central Committee. Julie is the owner and founder of Lagniappe Communications Group, a public relations firm, and serves on the Board of Trustees of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. For Julie, “Sportsman’s Paradise” isn’t just Louisiana’s state nickname–it is part of her family heritage. She is an avid fan of Louisiana sports teams and occasionally travels to Atlanta for a Braves baseball game or across the globe for a Formula One race.
