Grant Strobl is the National Chairman of Young Americans for Freedom. Both Red Alert Politics and Newsmax have named Grant as one of the most influential young conservatives in the country, citing his work to advance conservative ideas and secure key free speech victories at his college and high school, as well as across the country.
As the founding chairman of his Young Americans for Freedom chapter at the University of Michigan, he quickly made the chapter the most active in the nation. His chapter was named, ‘Chapter of the Year’ in 2015. He held successful events including a debate between Bill Ayers and Dinesh D’Souza, and lectures by Ben Shapiro, Tom Price, Raheel Raza, Jonah Goldberg, and Deroy Murdock to name a few. Grant led the charge to reinstate the screening of American Sniper after attempts of censorship by university administration. He was also on Fox News to support the screening. Moreover, he exposed professor Susan Douglas in the national spotlight on Fox News for her article on why “we should all hate Republicans.”
Many know Grant as, “His Majesty.” He protested the University of Michigan’s policy that allows students to input anything as a so-called pronoun in a blank box, and then require professors to use them. He is a strong opponent of politically correct policies on campuses which he believes chills an environment of free expression.
He is also the founding chairman of his high school YAF chapter where he successfully fought administration to bring CEO Steve Forbes to speak to an audience of 1,300 students.
Grant has been named one of the top conservative activists in the country according to YAF’s Club 100 for six years and has topped that list for four of those years. Grant’s hometown honored his work in the conservative movement through a proclamation of “Grant Strobl Day.”
VICE magazine calls Grant an “undeniable figurehead for millennial conservatism.” Fox News host Todd Starnes refers to Grant as the “Noble Ruler of the Wolverines.” Young America’s Foundation President Ron Robinson acclaimed Grant as, “the most important undergraduate in the country.” And, the publication Total Frat Move even named Grant “The King of the Trolls.”
Grant has been published in YAF’s publication the New Guard, the National Review, the Detroit News, Red Alert Politics, Conservative Review, Daily Signal, and Fox News. He has been quoted in several prominent national and international publications including the USA Today, Fox News, the Washington Post, and the Washington Times.
Grant is finishing a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor and will pursue a law degree at Notre Dame. He has previously interned for the Committee on House Administration, Governor Rick Snyder’s re-election campaign in Michigan, the Meese Legal Center at the Heritage Foundation, and for Hannity on Fox News Channel. He also sits on the Michigan 14th District Republican Congressional Committee.
